Punch black prince
Recently I ordered a box Punch black prince, a discontinued ring 46 143mm long cigar, already aged as the box has a code of September 2000. The cigars are slightly box-pressed and the wrapper had lots of veins, a nice firm feeling, fine predraw and the nice smell of a stable. I just wonder why they called it Black Prince, as the wrapper isn’t dark at all, it is a nice light, oily wrapper.
Right after lighting it I could taste a warm, creamy leather taste with some earthy tones and after about a third the flavors become a bit spicier, less creamy and a hint of toast joins in. Later on there is some cacao and the creamy feeling returns. Closer to the end the cacao increases in flavor, but all flavors are perfectly balanced, what a joy to smoke this cigar and what a shame that they are discontinued.
The smoke could have been a bit more, the ash is dark gray and for some reason isn’t straight but is bended a little.
Would I buy this cigar again? Yes, I already ordered an extra box at gestocigars.com before it’s too late.
